UPDATE:

If you follow our TGC Blog or TGC Photo Gallery, you will recognize this monster of a truck. This is David's 2007 Dodge Ram 2500 with a staggering 20" of lift! We did a complete overhaul on this Dodge over a year ago to make it the beast that it is today. Well, David made the trip from texas to us in Alcoa TN again so we could do some more modifications.

We started by taking his KMC XD: Rockstars from chrome to a beautiful powdercoated gloss black. This simple change in wheel color made all the difference in the look of this Dodge. However, we didn't stop there! We continued with replacing his old 46x19.5x20 Mickey Thompson Bias Ply Baja Claw tires to a larger 47x21x20 Pitbull Tire and also mounted new Reservoir shocks in the rear. We also upgraded his sway bar end links with our brand new Top Gun Customz Sway Bar relocation bracket with heavy duty endlinks. Lastly, we painted his axles, frame, and all other exposed areas that has been worn down from all the salt and debris that is very common being so close to the gulf coast.

We always enjoy working on David's Dodge and hope to do work for him again.

Modifications:
Powdercoated his KMC XD Rockstars to Gloss Black
47x21x20 Pitbull Growler Tires
Top Gun Customz Heavy duty Sway Bar Endlink Setup
Reservoir shocks in the rear
Lastly, we painted his axles, frame, and all other exposed areas

Thank you David, for giving us the opportunity to add some "bigger" to the Texas skyline.

Now resting from his 18 hour (non-stop) trip home to Texas, David’s 2007 Dodge Ram 2500 is now a completed project. After seeing our install on his brothers Dodge, David drove his Dodge to our shop for some upgrades.

We installed our very own, Top Gun Customz branded integrated front and rear long arm brackets. We needed a flat, strong surface to bolt the center bracketry to, so we welded in an L-shaped plate to the front and underneath of the frame. This gave the frame extra strength and gave us a flat surface for our brackets. After stripping down the rear axle, we installed the rear axle brackets, rear frame brackets, and rear track bar set up from Pure Performance's Desert Race system. With the truck in the air and all brackets tied in, we built 8 fully adjustable links to reattach the axles to the truck. We used adjustable heavy duty rubber bushing ends at the frame for the front 4 link which will not transmit road vibrations into the frame, making the ride that much better.

To complement the amazing ride quality that the King Remote Reservoir Coil-Over Shocks were going to produce, we installed the Rize Industries Steering Upgrade. This kit added an idler-arm assembly and relocated the draglink connection 8.5 inches lower than just a pitman arm could. This addition made this truck steer amazingly.

With reservoirs hanging all over the place, we custom fabricated frame mounted brackets to retain the rear reservoirs, and welded tubes to the Superlift Triple Front Shock Kit, to allow placement of the front coil-over reservoirs. We were able to mount the reservoirs for the Pro Comp 2.0 Shocks directly to their bodies to create a very interesting array of parts inside front fender wells.

With the enormous drop in the steering, we customized the track bar relocation bracket with an extension and a properly angled gusset for stability.

Rockcrusher Differential Covers, provided one of their seemingly bulletproof covers for the rear axle.

We upgraded the cylinders in the Superlift Select Series Dual Stabilizer with a pair of Bilstein 7100 Series Reservoir Shocks.

Everything that we could get off the truck was powder coated in a deep silver vein finish by ABJ Custom Powder Coating, in Maryville, Tennessee. Thanks to Barry and Gordon at ABJ for the quick turn-around of parts.

David chose 20x12 Chrome KMC XD Rockstars and 46x19.5x20 Mickey Thompson Bias Ply Baja Claw tires.

This truck rides amazing, soaks up bumps effortlessly, steers perfect, and feels like a stock truck….only sitting 20” higher!

We don't feel that a better truck could go to a better person. David, we at Top Gun Customz appreciate you for your time, and the opportunity you gave us to make this project a reality for you.
